A healing hub to support you as you grieve your soulmate pet.

The Furever Forest

For those grieving a soulmate pet—and need more than words to heal.

A community and healing hub for those who loved their pets deeply—and still do.

If your pet wasn’t just a pet...
If your pet grief feels invisible to the outside world...
If you’re longing for comfort, guidance, and a space to exhale your grief— our community is made for you.

🌿 What is The Furever Forest?

This is more than a pet loss support group. Or a therapy session once a week.

It’s an online sanctuary that includes:

  • ✍️ Journaling + reflective prompts

  • 🎨 Creative workshops + rituals to remember your pet

  • 💬 Live support sessions + heartfelt conversations with expert speakers

  • 🐾 Memorial spaces + check-ins

  • ❤️ A compassionate community that truly understands

  • 🕊️ A soft space to land on hard days

💕 How joining our community supports your healing:

  • Saves time: No more Googling oversimplified grief advice in your most difficult moments. You’ll find trusted tools, prompts, and authentic connection all in one place, whenever you need it.

  • Saves money: For less than the cost of a single therapy session (or a late-night retail therapy shopping spree), you get ongoing support, workshops, and expert guidance.

  • Improves mental & emotional wellbeing: Feel less overwhelmed and more in control of your emotions. Learn how to tend to your grief in ways that bring relief, clarity, and healing - at your own pace.

  • Improves relationships: When your pain has a safe place to land, you can release it, and show up more fully with people you love in your everyday life.

  • Brings peace: You don’t have to hide your emotions or “move on.” Here, you can honor and celebrate your pet’s memory openly—with others who truly understand the kind of love you shared.

🛠️ The Algorithm Doesn’t Get Grief

If you’ve ever searched for support online after losing your pet, you’ve probably been met with:

  • Ads for adoption before you're ready

  • Cookie cutter advice that doesn’t touch your real pain

  • Forums that feel cold, impersonal, or overly clinical

  • One-size-fits-all advice or support options

The Furever Forest is the opposite of that.

  • Off social media

  • Private, safe, and spam-free

  • A place to say the things you can’t say anywhere else

  • Curated by a bereaved pet parent who is also a licensed therapist

Whether you want to connect, create, reflect, or simply have a safe place to turn when you need it, there’s something here for you:

  • 🖊️ Journaling meetups for when you don’t want to talk, but need to get it out

  • 💬 Support chat drop-ins for the days you need connection without turning on your camera

  • 🎧 Guest speaker events for when you just want to listen and feel understood

  • 🌙 24/7 online forum for middle-of-the-night thoughts, memories, or emotions that need a place to land

  • 🎨 Creative workshops for when you want to express yourself through art to keep your pet’s spirit close

  • 🗣️ Live peer support sessions for when you’re ready to share your story and find relief

  • 📚 Pet loss resources to help you cope on hard days and heal at your own pace

This is pet loss support made for how you feel—today, tomorrow, and any given moment in between.

  • You don’t believe grief for animals is as real as grief for humans

Hi there, I'm Paige Rechtman.
I'm a bereaved pet parent and a Licensed Therapist.
And I'm the Founder of the Furever Forest.

And this here is my beloved soul-creature-kitty, Squiggles, who sadly passed away in June of 2023 and is the inspiration for this community.

If you have found yourself here, I am SO very sorry for your loss.

Saying goodbye to a soulmate pet shatters your heart. It disrupts your entire world—your routine, your identity, your sense of peace and comfort.

Most people don’t understand that.

But I do.

When I lost Squiggles, what I needed more than anything was to keep her spirit close.

I didn't want to just honor her once—after receiving her ashes or posting a tribute.

I needed to honor her every single day.

And I did. Through art. Through gardening. Through writing about her on my blog. Through sharing her story with anyone who would listen—friends and strangers alike.

Because she wasn’t just my pet. She was my home. My one-of-a-kind soulmate kitty.

And even as a therapist—and a huge believer in therapy—I knew that’s not what I needed in the thick of this loss.

What I needed was something more expansive. Because our love was expansive. And so was my grief.

That’s when I realized: if I needed this, others would too.

A space where your loss isn’t spoken about once and then tucked away.

A space where you can remember, express, create, and keep honoring your pet for as long as you need to.

That’s what The Furever Forest is.

Not just a support group.

A community. A sanctuary.

A sacred space where your grief is welcome—and your pet’s memory lives on, furever.

The grief you're experiencing is so intense because it is also a testament to the insurmountable amount of love you have for your soulmate pet.

And that love does not go away when your pet's soul transitions into the next realm. Or when you bury them in your yard. It is very much alive inside of you, and always will be.
The Furever Forest is a space to express that love so you can find ways to live your life as fully in your pet's honor.
